In my region a lady who suffered arthritis, in a lot of pain and taking lots of chemical based medication, I'm not sure where she heard about cannabis but she started growing one plant on her kitchen window sill, using it as a herb on her food, shepherds pies, scones, gravy and lots of her daily foods. She noticed that she'd stopped taking as many of her meds straight away, eventually cutting it to no chemical meds and just the cannabis as a herb, because some of her friends joined in eating her cottage pies and other meals she was treated as a criminal and given a suspended sentence. While she agreed that breaking the law was wrong, surely the crime not allowing someone to use a natural source for pain control.
Wales in England has now approved the use of cannabis for the treatment of MS. Another disability that the plant has proved to be a great help,
There are also studies in the treatment of depression, and other conditions.
It seems the only reason this is not legal is because the drug companies that provide doctors with the chemical anti depressants, pain killers and all the other drugs would stand to loose a lot, not only the vast amount of cash they get from them, but also the fact that a lot of the so called legal medicines leave you needing something else to counteract the first drug your on.

Writings from ancient India confirm that its psychoactive properties were recognized, and doctors used it for a variety of illnesses and ailments.
